Today's Game
The Georgetown Hoyas and Colgate Raiders both open their seasons tonight at 7 p.m. in Georgetown's McDonough Gym. The Hoyas closed out the 2001-02 season in the First Round of the BIG EAST Championship losing to Miami 52-69. Overall the Hoyas finished 12-16. Colgate meanwhile ended their season in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals losing to Holy Cross 71-83. The Raiders completed the 2001-02 season with 14-17 record.
The Series Georgetown holds a 3-0 advantage all-time against Colgate. Last season the two teams squared off for the first time since 1987. The Hoyas prevailed 83-69 in Hamilton, N.Y. and were led by Nok Duany who posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Georgetown defeated the Raiders in 1987 by eight points 68-60 and won a 64-44 contest in 1979.
