WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Georgetown University men?s soccer coach Keith Tabatznik has announced the signing of four student-athletes for the upcoming soccer season. Jeff Curtin (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Academy), Benjamin Jefferson-Dow (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt High), Danny Pydo (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) and Kemmons Feldman (Eden Prarie, Minn./Minnehaha Academy) have committed to play soccer for the Hoyas.
A defender, Curtin is a seven-year member of the USYSA Region 1 Team and a two-year member of the US National Team Player Pool. A member of the Adidas ESP Camp in 2000 and 2001, Jeff was selected to participate in the camp?s All-Star game in 2001. As a member of Germantown Academy?s team, Curtin was First Team All Inter-Ac League and All-Area from his freshman through senior year. Curtin was chosen as the league?s MVP in his senior season.
Jefferson-Dow, an attacking midfielder, helped to lead Roosevelt High to three consecutive Washington state championships and was a one year All-State selection. He spent three semesters at the prestigious Bolletieri Academy, where he had the opportunity to take two trips to Brazil to compete against some of the top soccer clubs in the world. A quarterfinalist in the Far West Soccer Regionals, Jefferson-Dow was the only freshman to be named to the All-League Team in high school.
Pydo, a defender, is a member of the Sockers FC Top Talent Program. A member of the Dallas Cup Championship team in 2000, Pydo helped the Sockers capture the Illinois State Cup Championship in 1998, 2000 and 2001 and the club championship third place position in 2000.
Feldman, Minnehaha Academy and the Tri-Metro Conference?s leading goal scorer, will add depth to the Hoyas? attack position. A NSCAA All-Regional Team selection in 2001, Feldman is a five-year member of the Olympic Developmental Squad, where he helped to lead the team to a Cocoa Beach Interregional Tournament title. In 2002, he traveled to Brazil ODP Regional team, as well as trained with Major League Soccer?s the Chicago Fire.
"Jeff, Ben, Danny and Kemmons will add a great deal of talent to our young squad," Tabatznik said. "They all have a significant amount of top level experience, which should prove valuable in making a quick transition to the college game. These are four excellent student-athletes who will help continue our tradition of excellence on and off the field."
