Georgetown was given a solid 7-0 defeat by Davidson on Friday afternoon February 22 at the Montclair Tennis Club in Dumfries, VA.
In the doubles competition, Georgetown was outplayed at both the #1 and #2 doubles positions. At #3 doubles, the Hoya tandem of Jordan Botjer (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) and Monisha Ghia played a competitive match, losing 8-6 to the Davidson team of Cantrell and Hilu.
In singles, the Hoyas were unable to claim a set from the tough Davidson singles line-up. Only Caroline Marshall (Pittsford, N.Y./Harley) was able to win more than two games in a set, falling 6-2,6-4 to Yasa Hilu at #5 singles.
The Hoyas next will take on two tough teams in South Florida.-the University of St. Thomas in Miami, FL on Monday March 4 and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL on Wednesday March 6.
