Williamsburg, Va. - The Georgetown University women?s golf team finished 14th overall in the William & Mary Spring Invitational, which took place at the Blackheath Golf Course on Ford?s Colony in Williamsburg on Saturday-Sunday, March 30-31. The team, which is in its inaugural season as a varsity sport at Georgetown, shot a collective score of 709.
Freshman Connie Isler (Fort Meade, Md.) produced the top individual performance for the Hoyas, shooting a combined 163 to tie for 36th place in the tournament. Isler posted an 85 on Saturday then followed that up with a 78 on Sunday. Freshman Lauren Frazer (Annapolis, Md.) shot an 87 on the first day of the tournament and an 85 on day two, for a combined score of 172 and a 60th place overall finish. Heather McDermott (So., Newport Beach, Calif.) turned in 70th place finish, shooting an overall score of 183, while Simone Petrella (So., Paramus, N.J.) closed out the tournament with a 209.
The Hoyas will be in action again on Saturday-Sunday, April 6-7, when they travel to Massachusetts for the Boston College Lady Eagle Invitational.
