The Georgetown men?s golf team tied for ninth place with George Mason at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J. Collectively, the Hoyas shot a 296 in the first round, and facing tougher hole location in the second, fired a 303 for a total score of 599. Penn State won the event, shooting a one-over par 569 and beating second place William and Mary by 10 strokes.
The top individual performance for the Hoyas came from Bob Molina (Fr., Skokie, Ill./Loyola), who shot a six-over 148. Nick Cook (So., Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) and James Farrah (So., Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) both shot an eight-over 150, and Tristan Lewis (Sr., Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) shot a nine-over 151. Penn State's Josh Dawes took first in the individual competition, shooting a six-under 136, and beating Tim Pemberton of William & Mary and Andrew Svoboda of St. John's by a single stroke.
The Hoyas' next competition will be this weekend at the BIG EAST Championship at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
