Men’s Golf Earns Runner-Up at Wildcat Spring Invitational, Erick Claims First

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team delivered a dominant performance at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, earning runner-up in a competitive 12-team field at Galloway National GC in Galloway Township, New Jersey. The Hoyas carded rounds of 293, 294 and 297 (+32) with a second-place team total of 884 over the 54-hole event. Leading the way for the Blue & Gray, Carson Erick claimed his first collegiate individual title.

Head Coach Tommy Hunter

"Really proud of the guys this past weekend, especially Carson Erick. Galloway National is a very difficult golf course and when you add colder temps and heavy gusts of wind, it becomes even more difficult. We knew scores would be high which leads to frustration. We were patient not to fall into that trap and remain competitive for 54 holes!"

Hoya Results

  • Erick led the way for the Blue & Gray with a memorable performance, capturing the first individual win of his collegiate career. After opening with a 73 in round one and a 74 in round two, he stormed back with a 69 to seal the victory a 3-over par.
  • Barnes Blake showed up big for the Hoyas this week, finishing tied for sixth at 10-over par. Blake finished the tournament with rounds of 75, 73 and 74 (222).
  • CJ Winchenbaugh had a solid outing, finishing tied for eight at 10-over par. Winchenbaugh carded rounds of 75, 73 and 75 (223).
