Georgetown?s men?s golf team finished in fourth place this past weekend at the 2002 BIG EAST Championship. The Championship was played on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21 in Notre Dame, Ind. at the Warren Golf Course. GU finished with a final score of 898. Virginia Tech won the event shooting an overall 865. GU?s Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) completed the Championship tied for fourth with a 217. His effort earned him a spot on the 2002 All BIG EAST men?s golf team.
The Hoyas had two golfers on the top 15 finishers list. The first was Cook and tying for the 12th spot was sophomore James Farrah (So., Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) with a three round total of 226.
Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy)) and Cody Courbier (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) both shot a 231 and tied for 21st. Rounding out the Hoya golfers was Bob Molina (Fr., Skokie, Ill./Loyola), who fired a 233, finishing in 24th place.
The Hoyas hit the links one more time this season. GU will participate in the Penn State Invite on April 27th and 28th in University Park, Pa. on the Penn State Blue Course.
