LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Georgetown men's soccer team opened its 2002 preseason on Tuesday afternoon by playing VMI to a 0-0 tie at Patchin Field. There was no overtime in the scrimmage.
The Hoyas outshot VMI by a count of 14-8 and had several opportunities to score towards the end of the game, but could not get a shot past the Keydet keeper. VMI's Harris made six saves on the afternoon. Georgetown senior goalkeeper Brian O'Hagan (St. Louis, Mo./ Christian Brothers) made three saves for the Hoyas.
GU will conclude its preseason with a scrimmage in Germantown, Md. against Loyola on Saturday, August 24 at 2 p.m. The Hoyas open the regular season in the D.C. Soccer Classic held at American University. GU faces GWU on Friday, August 30 at 12 noon and then will play host AU on Sunday, September 1 at 2:30 p.m.
