The Skinny
After 54 consecutive victories dating back to November 9, 2001, the #2 UConn Huskies are poised to make history against a tough Georgetown Hoya opponent. With a win today the Huskies will own the longest winning streak in NCAA history. UConn?s last loss came 659 days ago in the NCAA Final Four against Notre Dame. Despite Georgetown?s lacklustre all-time record versus the Huskies, the 2002-03 edition of the Hoyas is off to one of the best starts in program history.

At 11-2 Georgetown is tied for fifth in the BIG EAST, boasting one of the top 50 scorers in the country in Rebekkah Brunson and one of the top 10 most productive three point shooters in Mary Lisicky. Brunson is averaging 18.9 points per game while ranking T-7th in the nation in rebounding with 11.7 boards per game.

Diana Taurasi leads the Huskie attack averaging 19.0 points per game, pulling down a team high 6.6 boards and dishing 4.9 assists per game. Freshman guard Ann Strother is second on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game.

The BIG EAST?s #3 and #4 offenses collide as two of the top players in the BIG EAST attempt to keep their teams on track in 2003.
