The Georgetown University Sailing Team competed in 10 regattas over the last three
weekends. The results were as follows:

For the first time in five years the Hoyas did not win the Tom Curtis Regatta. The
competition was very good and the Hoyas had their best sailors out on the 1st day and took a commanding lead. The lead slipped on the second day when the team subsituted in some sailors and St. Mary's had their best sailor in B division. It came down to the last race and was exciting to watch.

The top three make it the National Championships and Eliza Ryan came close but couldn't get enough good races to break into the top 3.

The lady Hoyas sailed well but were inconsistent on the first day of racing. Derby Anderson and Dorothee Bergin sailed quite well on Sunday and ended up very close to 1st in B.

The second place finish by the Hoyas was quite good. They battled back on Sunday and nearly won. They easliy beat Dartmouth and Harvard twice each in the championship round.

This is the only Offshore (big boat) regatta the team competes in. Sailing in Express 37's the Hoyas beat the top teams from all the academies in route to the victory. Rich duMoulin, father of Ed '06, let the team use his boat and also housed the team for the weekend.

Both divisions sailed quite well. Bill Jorch did a great job in A division against a good
