WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Senior Rebekkah Brunson (Oxon Hill, Md./ Oxon Hill) was named BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week for her efforts in the Georgetown women's basketball team's opening games against George Washington and Lafayette.

Brunson averaged a double-double of 20.0 points and 14.0 rebounds to help Georgetown win its first two contests of the 2003-04 season. In a 67-62 victory at George Washington last Friday, Brunson finished with a career-high 19 rebounds and had 15 points. Brunson then scored a game-high 25 points on Sunday and added nine rebounds and five blocks in the Hoyas? 72-58 win at Lafayette.

Brunson was twice named conference player of the week last season, and this year was a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST selection.
