Georgetown and West Virginia battle into the second half of the season sporting identical overall records and separated by only two conference wins. The Mountaineers are coming off their first BIG EAST win of the season against Providence after losing seven of eight games. Georgetown is in a slump of its own, losing five of the last six.
West Virginia received votes for six weeks in both the AP and USA Today/ESPN Poll thanks in part to the team?s 10-0 start. Georgetown also had a hot start, taking 10 of the first 13 games to earn votes in the AP Poll.
The Hoyas are led by All-American candidate Rebekkah Brunson who has scored in double-digits in all but one game this season, earning 12 double-doubles to lead the BIG EAST this season.
West Virginia sports three players averaging in double-digit scoring, led by Kate Bulger and her 15.1 points per game.
