LOVELAND, OHIO--The Georgetown University men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Xavier/Provident Invitational held at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio. Georgetown posted a team total 888 (290-302-296) in the 19-team invite. Winning the competition was Indiana with a three round total of 834, while St. Mary's (Calif.) and Wisconsin tied for second with each shooting a 855.
Matt Myers (St. Joseph, Mo./ Central High School) finished among the top 20 golfers at the event, tying for 15th overall with a Hoya low 215 (71-72-72). Next for GU was Tim Moynihan (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Franklin Regional) who carded a 224 (71-78-75) tying him for 53rd. Senior Bob Molina (Skokie, Ill./ Loyola Academy) checked in with a three round 225 (72-78-75) and tied for 63rd. Rounding out the Hoya five was David Erickson (Edina, Minn./The Blake School) with a 226 (76-76-74 T-67th) and Matt Busa (Cleveland, Ohio/ St. Ignatius) with a 240 (77-76-87 --99th).
Georgetown goes to Philadelphia, Pa. this weekend, October 16-17, for the BIG 5 Classic held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
