New Kent, Va. - Georgetown University's men's golf placed fifth at the Joe Agees Invitational hosted by William & Mary. Georgetown posted a three round score of 901 (292-298-311) to secure the fifth spot out of 17 teams. Rutgers University won the invite with an 871, followed by host William & Mary's 877, Towson's 881 and Boston College's 898.
Georgetown's top finisher was sophomore Tim Moynihan (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) who shot a 223 (72-73-78) to place tied for 13th. Juniors David Erickson (Edina, Minn./The Blake School) and Matt Myers (St. Joseph, Mo./ Central High School) finished one stroke behind Moynihan with a 224 to tie for 16th place. Erickson shot rounds of 73-72-79, while Myers shot 72-77-75.
To complete the Hoya quintet was senior Bob Molina (Skokie, Ill./ Loyola Academy) who tied for 40th place (230--75-76-79) and freshman David Praet who tied for 83rd place (245--80-85-80).
The Hoyas travel to Loveland, Ohio next to participate in the Xavier/Provident Invitational at the Oasis Golf Club on October 11-12.
