PRINCETON, N.J.- Georgetown University?s men?s golf team finished third for the second consecutive tournament, this time at the Princeton Invitational held at Springdale Golf Club on Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th. The Hoyas combined to shoot 590, seven strokes off first place Princeton. Rounding out the top five of the 23 participating schools were Towson (2nd ? 587), Temple (4th ? 591) and George Washington (5th ? 594).
Senior co-captain James Farrah (Potomac, Md./ Georgetown Prep) led the Hoya charge for the second straight competition, tying for fifth overall with a two over 144 (72-72). Fellow senior co-captain Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) fired his way into a 13th place tie, carding a +5, 147 (72-75). Matt Myers (St. Joseph, Mo./ Central High School) was two shots behind Cook (149 ? 75-74) and finished tied for 21st. Sophomore David Erickson (Edina, Minn./The Blake School) tied for 23rd overall with a 150 (74-76). Freshman Tim Moynihan (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) shot an 80 in the second round.
Next for the men?s golf program will be the BIG EAST Championship in Sound Bend, Indiana at Warren Golf Club. The BIG EAST begins on Saturday, April 24th and concludes on Sunday, April 25th.
