WASHINGTON, D.C. ? The Georgetown University coed sailing team, fresh off a victory at the MAISA Team Race Championship last weekend, has climbed into first place in the Sailing World national rankings.
The Hoyas, already qualifiers for the ICSA Team Race National Championships, moved from second place into first in the April 13 poll, as St. Mary?s, the previous top team, slid into fifth. Georgetown defeated both St. Mary?s and third-ranked Hobart at last weekend?s regatta.
The women's team at Georgetown currently ranks sixth in the Sailing World polls.
This weekend the Hoyas are scheduled to compete in three events: the Robert P. Arrigan Memorial Regatta at Georgetown, the Admirals Cup at Kings Point and the Moody Trophy at the University of Rhode Island.
