Box Score

TOWSON, MD. - Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Keszler (Walt Whitman H.S./Bethesda, Md.) recorded five saves as he posted his second shutout of the season while leading Georgetown University (3-3-0) to a 2-0 non-conference victory over Towson University (3-2-1) on Wednesday afternoon at the Tigers? Towson Center Field.

The victory enabled the Hoyas to end their three-game losing streak while the Tigers saw their three-game unbeaten streak come to an end.

The Hoyas took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when senior Dan Gargan (Sr., Chestnut Hill Academy/Philadelphia, Pa.) headed in a well-placed corner kick by junior Danny McAnally (Jr., Delbarton H.S./Mendham, N.J.). Gargan scored his second goal of the season into the right corner of the net at 24:55, giving the Hoyas a 1-0 lead.

Georgetown missed several chances to extend its lead as it dominated the first half, outshooting the Tigers by an 11-8 margin.

In the second half, the Tigers pressured Keszler with several strong scoring chances. However, sophomore Ricky Schramm(So., Fordham Prep/East Chester, N.Y.) clinched the win when he scored an unassisted goal with 2:52 left in the game. He stole the ball away from Tiger goalkeeper Zak Thompson and scored an uncontested goal. It was his fourth goal of the season.

Thompson, who allowed only two goals in 496 minutes coming into the game, made six saves for the Tigers.

Georgetown enters BIG EAST play this Saturday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. in South Bend, Ind. against Notre Dame.
