Notre Dame, Ind. - The Georgetown University women's volleyball team was upended by the ninth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 3-0 (30-12, 30-22, 30-20) today at the Joyce Center. The Hoyas drop to 6-16 on the season, 2-7 in BIG EAST play.

Junior Rachel Barton (Marietta, Ga./The Walker School) led the team with 13 digs while Katie Nulty (Santa Barbara, Calif./Laguna Blanca) and Caitlin Boland (Naperville, Ill./Benet Acad.) added 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
Senior Rachel Nelson (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis) posted nine kills and sophomore Kate Fisher (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo Park) handed out 20 assists.
In game one, Notre Dame jumped out to 10-0 lead and never looked back.
In game two, Georgetown led 16-15 on a kill by Nulty but the Fighting Irish went on a mini 9-4 run to open a 24-20 edge that extended into the 30-22 game victory.
In the final game, Georgetown fell victim to a 10-3 deficit and never recovered as Notre Dame extended their lead to 23-9.
Georgetown is back in action again on Friday, October 28 when the Hoyas play host to the Connecticut Huskies in a BIG EAST tilt the begins at 8 p.m.
