Storrs, Conn. - The Georgetown University men's soccer team concluded the 2005 regular-season with a 1-0 loss at fourth-ranked Connecticut this evening at Marrone Stadium. The Hoyas finish the regular-season slate with a 10-8 overall record, 6-5 in BIG EAST action with 18 league points. Georgetown now must wait until Monday's league action finishes before they learn who their opponent will be in the BIG EAST Championship First Round. GU will travel to Villanova or Rutgers on Wednesday or Thursday, November 2 or 3.

Connecticut's sophomore Chukwudi Chijindu scored the decisive tally in the 28th minute. Ryan Cordeiro got the ball to Willis Forko near the left sideline who made a quick move with the ball to send it into the Hoya penalty area. Chijindu received the ball and slipped it past GU goaltender Andrew Keszler.

Keszler made with seven saves for the second time in the last three games.

Georgetown had four quality opportunities to score but could not record the game-tying marker as the Hoyas posted three shots on goal, all in the second half.

Georgetown now readies itself for their 13th BIG EAST Championship in the last 14 years, dating back to 1992.
