Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown women's sailing team won the Princeton Women's Regatta on Saturday, October 29 at the Raritan Yacht Club. With 22 points, the Hoyas beat out Fordham (32), Maryland (50) and host Princeton (58).
The Hoyas won both the A and B division, totaling 11 first-place finishes in the combined 16 races. In the A division, sophomore Philippa Fraumeni (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) and freshman Emily Babbitt (Dartmouth, Mass./Bishop Stang) had 12 points in the eight races, winning five and edging Fordham by six points.
Meanwhile in the B division, Georgetown posted 10 points, four points ahead of Fordham. Senior Clare Starshak (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius) and freshman Laurel Korb (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) won the final six races of the day, after a pair of second-place finishes to start the regatta.
