Lexington, KY - The Georgetown University women's basketball team fell on the road at the University of Kentucky, 63-47 tonight at Memorial Coliseum. The Hoyas drop to 4-3 while UK remains unbeaten at 7-0.

Sophomore point guard Kristin Heidloff (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) set a season-high with 14 points matched a season-high with six rebounds. Heidloff handed out five more assists to equal her season average.

Junior Kate Carlin (Ambler, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph) also netted 14 points for the Hoyas while senior Bethany LeSueur (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) finished with 13 points, including the team's first three field goals of the game.

Georgetown made seven of their first 16 field goals and trailed 20-15 with 9:43 to go in the first half. Carlin hit a long three-pointer to trim the GU deficit to 22-19 with 8:13 left but Kentucky shot 7-14 from the floor over the final eight minutes to open their biggest lead of the game, 35-23 at intermission. UK outrebounded the Hoyas, 23-15 and the Wildcats hauled in nine offensive rebounds in the opening stanza.

In the second half, the Hoyas cut the score to 47-36 with 16:06 to go but GU would go without a field goal for the next 12 minutes as the Wildcats opened a 56-36 lead. Georgetown couldn't get any closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Georgetown will not return to action until Tuesday, December 20 when the Hoyas travel to the University of Delaware for a 7 p.m. non-league contest.

Game Notes...

Georgetown faced their biggest halftime deficit of the season (35-23).

The Hoyas were held to a season-low 29 rebounds and were outrebounded for just the second time this season.

It was the first time GU faced a team from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Head Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy's one-plus seasons.
