WASHINGTON, DC - Georgetown's women's tennis team was defeated by a strong UMBC team on Wednesday, March 16, at the McDonough Courts on campus. The Hoyas won one match on the day, a come from behind victory at #1 doubles by the team of Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) and Adriann Gin (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School). UMBC swept the other two doubles matches and all six singles matches to down the Hoyas by a final score of 7-0.
The Hoyas 2004-2005 record now stands at 3-6. This weekend the Hoyas will face BIG EAST rival Villanova and Swarthmore College on a weekend road trip to Philadelphia, PA.
