WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Two Georgetown men's soccer student-athletes, Dan Gargan and Trevor Goodrich, were selected this week in the Major Indoor Soccer League's 2005 college draft. The MISL is a four-year old indoor soccer league that encompasses eight teams throughout the nation. The Philadelphia KIXX selected Gargan in the second round and the St. Louis Steamers chose Goodrich in the fourth round.
Gargan was recently also selected in the fourth round of the Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft earlier this month. He was the fourth Hoya in the history of Georgetown to be drafted. Gargan was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team and Georgetown's MVP at the end of the 2004 season. He finished the year second on the team in scoring with 15 points and ranks 17th all-time at Georgetown in points with 40.
Fellow senior Goodrich played in a total of 76 games during his four seasons at Georgetown. He was the top assist man on this season's team with 11 and totaled 25 during his career, which ranks seventh all-time on the Hilltop. Goodrich was Georgetown's assist leader in three of four years and tied a BIG EAST record for assists in a game with four against Villanova in 2002.
