JAMAICA, NY -- Georgetown was defeated by St. John's in a BIG EAST Conference match-up hosted by St. John's in Jamaica, N.Y. Georgetown's conference record now stands at 1 win, 1 loss.
The Hoyas battled for the doubles point but came up short as the #1 doubles team lost 6-8 and the #2 doubles team lost 7-9.
In singles play, Liddy Bartell won the #3 singles match as her opponent retired with Bartell holding a 5-4 first set advantage.
The Hoyas next opponent is Seton Hall, and they will host the Pirates at the Army Navy Country Club Indoor Tennis Facility in Arlington, Va., Saturday evening, February 26, at 6:00 p.m. The following morning the Hoyas host local rival George Mason at Army Navy at 11:00 a.m.
