WASHINGTON, DC--Andrew Campbell, a rising senior on the Georgetown University sailing team, won the Laser North American Championships on Monday, June 20. The win adds to his list of victories as he won the ICSA Men's Singlehanded National Championship in 2004. Campbell was also named a Coed-team All-American in 2005.
The Laser North Americans were completed in sunny skies with breezes in the teens in Seattle, Washington on Monday, June 20. Campbell of San Diego won in the full rigs over Canadians Bernard Luttmer in a convincing performance that included five wins, totaling only 17 points with Luttmer the closest competitor at 28 points.

Campbell will take a few weeks off before heading to the UK where he will be part of the US Collegiate Sailing All-Star team who will be competing against a number of British Universities. The All-Star team is coached by Georgetown Sailing Assistant Coach Bill Ward C'96 .
After Andrew competes in the UK he will head to Izmir,Turkey where he will represent Georgetown and the United States at the World University Games from August 11 to 21 . Andrew qualified to represent the US by winning the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship in October.
In other GUST sailing news Steve Streit '05 just won his division at the Marion, MA to Bermuda Race aboard his 40 Foot boat Fandango. The race is a 635 nautical mile race from Marion, Massachusetts to Bermuda.
