Washington, DC - The Georgetown University women's golf team closed out the 2005 Princeton Invitational in fourth place after firing a 24-over par 312 in today's final round, the second lowest team total on the day. For the two-day tournament at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, NJ, the Hoyas shot a 635 (323-312) and were led by junior Maggie Ward (Rochester, NY), who tied for ninth individually with a 12-over par 156 (82-74).

This finish marked the second top-five finish for the Hoyas this season, coming off a third place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational to open the fall season two weeks ago.

After Ward, whose second round 74 was the second lowest score of the day, two other Georgetown golfers finished in the top-20. Senior Christy Larrimore (Baltimore, MD) finished 15th with a 13-over par 157 (79-78), while sophomore Katie Dwyer (Allentown, PA) tied for 17th with a 16-over par 160 (79-81). Rounding out the scoring for the Hoyas was freshmen Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, MA) with a 162 (83-79) in a tie for 29th and senior Nicole Hayashi (Westlake Village, CA), whose 172 (91-81) finished in a tie for 56th.

Tournament host Princeton won the team title by 20 strokes with a 29-over par 605 (299-306), while also placing three individuals among the top-four, including champion Sharla Cloutier, who shot a one-over par 145 (76-69)

The Hoyas return to the links next weekend at the Yale Invitational. Play begins on Saturday, October 1 with final round action taking place on Sunday.
