Georgetown University Director of Athletics Bernard Muir announced today that Tennis Coach Rich Bausch had resigned.
Citing personal reasons, Bausch ended 27 years at Georgetown over the Christmas holidays. Athletic Director Bernard Muir said "We regret when a person of Rich's caliber and experience leaves, but fully understand the stresses that go hand-in-hand with coaching. We sincerely wish Rich all the best in his future."
Bausch came to Georgetown in 1979 as the Director of Raquet Sports at Yates Field House. In 1980 he became Head Tennis Coach and in 1983 became Manager of the Yates Pro shop, a position he held until 2004.
