Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown women's tennis team dropped to 0-2 in BIG EAST Conference play as the team searches for its first win of the season. The Hoyas dropped a 4-3 decision to the Connecticut Huskies today at the McDonough Tennis Complex. Junior Liz Winokur (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman) and freshmen Courtney Olsen (Englewood, Colo./Colorado Academy) and Natalie Newman (Wayzata, Minn./Blake) turned in singles wins in the second, third and fourth flights, respectively, while the sophomore duo of Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) and Adriann Gin (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) won the first doubles flight.
The Hoyas return to the court Sunday, March 19 when they host conference foe Villanova. The Wildcats are 2-2 (as of March 9) in dual match play with wins over Mount St. Mary's and Robert Morris. The match is slated for a noon start.
