Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision on Sunday, April 2 to the Lancers of Longwood. The Hoyas drop to 2-7 with six matches left on the season.
The doubles team of sophomores Liz Winokur (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman) and Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) won their match at the first doubles flight with a score of 8-6.
Senior Charlotte Guy (Pasadena, Calf./Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) played her first dual match of the season at Longwood and won a 7-5, 6-4 decision at the sixth singles position. Freshman Courtney Olsen (Englewood, Colo./Colorado Academy) won a three-set match at the third singles position.
The Hoyas return to the court on Tuesday, April 4 when they host the Howard Bison at the McDonough Tennis Complex. The match is slated for 3 p.m.
