Georgetown Summer Journals - Week Two

June 12, 2006

Believe it or not, not much has happened since last week. The first summer semester started and more excitingly, the World Cup. There's nothing better than watching a couple of games then going out and playing yourself, all behind studying, of course. Christina Rourke spent an interesting weekend here in DC. Her summer seems to be going pretty well. She's working hard, even getting her mom to participate in the lifting packet with her. The World Cup has gotten all of us excited for our Europe trip this Spring. While we were watching one of the games, we looked through a scrap book of the last Europe trip, and it looks like a blast. We can't wait!

Right before our classes, Karen and I work on corner kicks. We will be scoring a lot of goals because of Iron Foot this year. Us DC girls are still working hard and now trying to plan a little pickup with GW, American, and other girls here for the summer.

Back in the Big Apple, Alex and Nicole won their last state cup with the Express. There was a great state cup match between Elaina and Carlee. It went into overtime, and Elaina scored the winning goal with a header. New Jersey has the wildcard, so both teams will be going to Regionals in Virginia Beach. We are going to have a lot of girls competing in Regionals this summer. Maybe we will even have a national champion or two.

We are also beginning to plan our pre preseason trip to Lindsey's house on the Jersey Shore. For a couple of days just the team will meet at Lindsey's to catch up, play a little, and relax before preseason.

Go Hoyas!
