Georgetown Plays in Second Exhibition on Wednesday Night

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University men's soccer team will travel to Charlottesville, Va. for an exhibition match with the Virginia Cavaliers on Wednesday, August 16 at Klockner Stadium. The match begins at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free.

It will be the second exhibition match for the Hoyas who played to a scoreless tie against Maryland on last Saturday.

Virginia, who was selected to finish second in the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason poll, will be playing in their first exhibition.

Georgetown opens the regular-season on Friday, Aug. 25 in the D.C. College Cup. The Hoyas will face the George Washington Colonials at 2:30 p.m. in a match that will be played at American University.

Georgetown returns nine starters including their goalkeeper to the 2006 squad that was selected to finish sixth in the BIG EAST Conference's Blue Division in the preseason poll as selected by the league head coaches. Last season, the Hoyas posted a 7-3 home record and 5-3 mark in games decided by a single goal.

Preseason camp for the Hoyas began on Wednesday, August 9.
