Georgetown Men's Soccer Hosts Seton Hall on Wednesday

Sept. 26, 2006

Washington, D.C. -- The Georgetown University men's soccer team will try to snap a two-game home losing skid on Wednesday when the Hoyas host Seton Hall in a BIG EAST game between Blue Division foes at North Kehoe Field. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. with live stats being available at www.guhoyas.com.

Georgetown (3-6-0, 2-3-0 BE) has dropped three of its last four games. The Hoyas are being led by senior Ricky Schramm (Eastchester, N.Y./Fordham Prep) who ranks fourth in the BIG EAST with five goals. The forward, who has tallied a goal in three of the last four games, also ranks fourth on the school's all-time scoring list with 34 career goals.

Senior Daniel Grasso (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale Central), junior Mike Glaccum (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle) and sophomore Conor Neusel (Chesterfield, Mo./Christian Bros. College HS) have combined for seven goals.

After making four career starts coming into the season, junior goalie Joe Devine (Exton, Pa./The Haverford School) has started five times this year, including each of the last three games and four of the team's five BIG EAST games. Devine has made 22 saves (1.22 gaa) and posted two shutouts, both vs. league opponents.

Schramm, Grasso, senior Ben Jefferson-Dow (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), Glaccum, sophomore Corey Zeller (Toms River, N.J./Toms River), sophomore Sean Bellomy (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and freshman Len Coleman (Basking Ridge, N.J./The Pingry School) have each started in every game this season. Freshman midfielder Scott Larrabee (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Loyola HS of Los Angeles) made his first career start on Saturday vs. Connecticut.

As a team, Georgetown ranks eighth in the league with 13 goals.

The Hoyas are 9-13-1 all-time in the series with the Pirates and SHU has won three of the last four meetings.

Georgetown has lost consecutive home games for the first time since last season (10/1/05 vs. Providence & 10/11/05 vs. Maryland).

Seton Hall (6-3-0, 4-1-0) is coming off a 5-3 loss at Blue Division leader, No. 8 West Virginia on Saturday. Prior to the defeat, Seton Hall had won six straight, the longest winning streak since the 1999 season. The Pirates are led by sophomore Eliseo Giusfredi (6 g, 2 a) and senior John Raus (4 g, 4 a). SHU ranks third in the league with 17 goals and fourth in the league with 46 points and the Pirates are averaging a shade under two goals per game.

Georgetown and Seton Hall have squared off against four common league teams, St. John's, Syracuse, Villanova and Rutgers. Seton Hall has posted a 4-0 record in those games while the Hoyas are 2-2.

The Hoyas return to the pitch again on Saturday, September 30 when GU travels to Providence for another Blue Division matchup at the Friars' Glay Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
