Washington, D.C. -- The Georgetown University men's soccer team fell on the road to Providence, 4-0 on Saturday at Glay Field in a matchup of BIG EAST Blue Division foes. The Friars outshot the Hoyas 23-7 for the game, posted 14 shots on goal and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Georgetown falls to 3-8-0 overall, 2-5 in BIG EAST action.
Georgetown junior goalie Joe Devine (Exton, Pa./The Haverford School) set a career-high with 10 saves.
Providence scored consecutive goals in a two-minute span midway through the opening period. Timothy Ritter notched his second goal of the season off a header at the 32:53 mark after Justin Kahle lofted a corner kick into the box. 107 seconds later, Ritter, this time, was the feeder and picked up an assist on Joseph Weill's second goal of the year.
