Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown sailing program was split up into two regattas this weekend, although only one was a scored event. The Hoyas sent their top sailors off to a practice regatta at the U.S. Naval Academy, while also entering in the Charleston Spring Coed Intersectional.
At Charleston, Georgetown was 11th of 18 schools, totaling 203 points over the weekend's 30 races. The host Cougars won with 126 points, edging Yale, who totaled 147. Sophomores Nik Holtan (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) and Andi Bailey (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Island/Antilles School) led the Hoyas in the A division, placing ninth with 144 points. In the B division, senior Dan Esdorn (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and freshman Caila Johnson (Newport, R.I./St. Paul's School) were 12th with 160 points.
Next weekend, the Hoyas will be split between the Bob Bavier Team Race, St. Mary's Quad Invitational and the Washington College Team Race.
