Georgetown senior Tim Moynihan (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) tied for third place and senior Matt Busa Matt Busa (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) finished in fifth place as the Georgetown University men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Princeton Invitational, held at the Springdale Country Club.

The Hoyas shot a 30-over par 598 to finish 15 strokes off the pace of winner St. John's (15-over par 583) in the 15-team field. The invitational was originally slated for 54 holes, but was pushed back to 36 holes after inclement weather during the weekend.

Moynihan posted rounds of three-over par 74 and one-under par 70 to finish at two-over par 144, six strokes off the pace of Princeton's John Sawin, who shot a four-under par 138.

Busa was steady throughout the tournament, posting a two-over par 73 in the first round and a one-over par 72 in the second round. Sophomore Tim Hager (Newton, Pa./Council Rock) tied for 36th place at nine-over par 151, opening with a three-over par. Freshman Donald Thomas (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) and newcomer Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland) tied for 68th place at 17-over par 159.

Georgetown plays next from April 22-24 at the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.
