Georgetown Women's Golf Finshes Fourth in Hoya Invitational

Washington, D.C. - Sophomore Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) carded a five-over par 77 and finished tied for sixth place overall, leading the Georgetown women's golf team to a fourth place finish after the second, and final, round of play at the Hoya Women's Golf Invitational, being held at the Raspberry Falls Golf Club in Leesburg, Virginia.

Princeton placed four individuals among the top nine overall and won the 13-team event with a 28-over par 604. Yale finished second with a 41-over par 617, followed by Nova Southeastern in third place at 51-over par 627. Georgetown finished in fourth place, one stroke behind Nova Southeastern, with a 52-over par 628. Columbia came in fifth place (55-over par 631), Penn in sixth place (63-over par 639), Boston College finished seventh (68-over par 644), St. John's improved to eighth (71-over par 647) and Siena and Brown rounded out the top-10 (80-over par 656; 82-over par 658).

Princeton's Susannah Aboff improved four strokes from her previous round and finished with a second round 73, for a two-round score of 150. She beat out three other golfers (Sara Ovadia, Columbia; Cindy Shin, Yale; Meredith Kotowski, Penn) who all finished one stroke behind.

Curtis led Georgetown and was joined in the top-10 by sophomore Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga), who finished with an 11-over par 155.
