Georgetown Crew Novices Conclude Fall Season at Rivanna Romp

Charlottesville, Va. - The Georgetown University novice men's crew finished their competitive fall season in Charlottesville, Virginia at the "Novice Men's Rivanna Romp", finishing fifth overall out of a 10 school field. The Hoya Lightweight "A" boat finished first among boats in the lightweight class.

The lightweights finished fourth and 15th, while the heavyweight men recorded eighth and 12th place finishes in a field of 24 boats at the 4000 meter head race, hosted by the University of Virginia men's crew staff on their home course.

Georgetown heavyweight "B" finished eighth in a time of 13:26. The eight+ boat consisted of cox Carly Heitlinger, stroke Charles Sullivan, Nico Dodd, Peter Bourneuf, Cameron Hoerner, Jeff Triozzi, Matt Matyjek, William Starshak and bow Matt Funk.

Georgetown heavyweight "A" finished 12th in a time of 13:30. The eight+ boat consisted of cox, Kitty Lichtenstein, stroke, Andy Olsen, Chris Kozak, Greg Charte, Oscar Neubauer, Ryan Lundquist, Scott Overlock, Aodhan Beirne and bow Lucas Cantor

"Our goal coming into this race was to row well and field two equally strong boats," Men's novice heavyweight coach Mike Guerrieri said. "We accomplished these goals with the Georgetown heavyweight boats finishing within four seconds of each other."

The Hoyas fourth place lightweight, the top finisher among light boats consisted of cox Annette Lauricella, stroke Conor McKinnon, Clark Bakewell, Steven Kendall, Marcelo Fanjul, Mike Barclay, Eric Valchuis, Zander Lee and bow Jon Miller.

The Hoyas 15th place lightweight boat consisted of cox Tom Hupez, stroke Colin Soper, Nat Disston, Chris Ulrich, Bowen Williams, Corby Hobbs, Henry Clark, Erik Johnson and bow Andrew Campion.

"I'm satisfied with the performance, for where we are in the season and our training cycle," novice lightweight coach Morgan Henderson said. "We're ready for a good, hard winter of training."
