WASHINGTON - Georgetown's men's lightweight rowing opened the spring season at the National Collegiate Lightweight Invitational this past weekend hosted by Columbia University in Overpeck, New Jersey. The squad had three boats competing in the event with races in the morning as well as in the afternoon.

"The team has done great work this winter, so we were excited to get a chance to race. We enjoy starting our season at the NCLI because it gives us a chance to lineup twice in one day against some very good competition. It was great to bring home several wins today, including the Bulldog Cup for the first time in team history. We appreciate Columbia University putting on a great event this year. Now we are looking forward to getting back to work on the Potomac River."
