WASHINGTON - After the first round of play, the Georgetown University women's golf team is in fourth place of 10 teams at the Ross Rogers Invitational at Mid-Pines Country Club in Southern Pines, N.C. with a score of 26-over par 314.
Sophomores Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) and Katie Skinner (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) pace the Hoyas with a score of four-over par 76, putting them in a tie for 10th place.
Sandra Changkija of Nova Southeastern University is leading the field with a two-under par 70, while Elin Marcsdottir of Rollins is in the second spot with a one-over par 73.
A 12-over par 300 from both Eastern Michigan and Rollins puts the teams in a deadlock for first place after the initial round of play. Nova Southeastern is in a close third with a 16-over par 304.
Georgetown freshman Simone Strauss (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert) is currently tied for 26th place with a eight-over par 80 and rookie Jordan Redfield (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) has a 10-over par 82 to put her in a tie for 39th. Sophomore Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) shot a 12-over 84 and is in 43rd place.
Freshman individual competitor is in Audrey Dalton (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) also has a 10-over par 82 to put her in the tie for 39th place.
