WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team finished in 15th place with a 54-hole score of 84-over par 924 at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic, hosted by Notre Dame University at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
Host Notre Dame won the event, posting a 30-over par 870, finishing four strokes ahead of Ohio State, second at 34-over par 874. Arkansas rounded out the top three by posting a 38-over par 878.
Notre Dame's Josh Sandman finished with a 54-hole score of 2-over par 212 to claim medalist honors.
Georgetown was led by junior Brandon Ellis (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales), who finished in a tie for 53rd while posting a score of 18-over par 228. This marks the second straight strong performance from Ellis who finished in a tie for 35th in the John Dallio Memorial.
Hoya sophomore Brian Dorfman (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek) finished right behind Ellis in a tie for 57th with a score of 19-over par 229, while senior Vincenzo Salina (Vandoeuvres, Switzerland/Institut Florimont) tied for 65th at 23-over par 233.
Rounding out the Hoya lineup were two freshman Taylor Hall (Roswell, Ga. / Blessed Trinity) who finished in a tie for 77th and Brad Cadigan (South Weymouth, Mass./Boston College Prep) who finished in 82nd place.
Georgetown will return to action in two weeks (Oct. 19-20) when they host the Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md.
