WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's golf team resumes play this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 9-10) at the Xavier Invitational at the 6,045 yard, par-72 LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Sophomores Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) will lead the pack, with freshmen Katie Skinner (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly), Simone Strauss (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert) and Jordan Redfield (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) rounding up the lineup.
Rookie Audrey Dalton (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) will compete as an individual in the tournament, marking her first appearance at the collegiate level.
Last year at the Xavier Invitational, the Hoyas finished ninth in the 14-team field, posting a score of 62-over par 926. GU graduate Chelsea Curtis placed fifth overall in the competition with a six-over par 222.
Most recently, Georgetown competed at the Lady Northern Invitational (Sept. 27-28) in Madison, Wis., where it finished in 11th place among 15 teams with a 31-over par 319. Dulieu was GU's top performer and finished in 29th place at 13-over par 229.
Dulieu currently leads the team with a 77.6 stroke average in the season's first two competitions. Jo has the team's second-best stroke average (78.6), while Strauss is leading all freshmen with an average of 80. Strauss also holds the lowest round of any Hoya with a 73 in the second round of the Lady Northern.
The Hoyas will continue play the following Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 19-20) at the Lady Pirate Invitational in Greenville County Club in Greenville, N.C.
