WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University Department of Athletics has opened registration for "The Major" 2010, an event to build Hoya Athletics. Information on the event can be found at www.GeorgetownMajor.com and registration is now open for the weekend of golf and fine dining at the famed Pinehurst Resort in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C.

"The Major" 2010 will be held September 16-19, 2010 as fans are encouraged to come out and experience the tradition. The department offers differing packages for all participants. Guests can enjoy world-class golf, lodging at the fabulous Carolina Inn, spa treatments, Nike golf equipment as well as a meet and greet with members of the Georgetown administrative and coaching staff.

"The Major" was first held in 2008 at The Player's Club at Sawgrass. The event was an unprecedented success with Hoya fans from all over the country traveling to take part in the inaugural fundraiser. Pictures from "The Major" 2008 and a blog can also be found on the web page.
