Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's tennis team cruised to their second-straight victory with a resounding 7-0 win over Longwood on Friday afternoon.
In doubles play, Briana Kearney and Jacquie Harrison won at the third doubles position with a blanking of Eileen Sullivan and Nasim Moadab, 8-0. Alex Sebia and Aileen Shea took the second-position match, 8-3, from Jackie Esquerra and Zsofia Jakab and Maxi Thiels teamed with Caroline Kuehn for a win at the top spot against Laura Simon and Ashley Melson in the closest matchup, 8-7 (7-1).
In singles play, no Hoya dropped a set en route to victory in six matches. Shea, Sebia, Harrison and Lacey Herchek cleaned up the No. 3 through No. 6 positions with easy straight-set wins, while Kuehn and Thiels fought off tie-breakers to earn straight-set victories in their matches.
