Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University coed sailing team finished the regular season last weekend by winning the ICSA National Championship Eastern Semifinals at the Boston Fan Pier in Boston, Mass. The victory results in the Hoyas finishing the season ranked No. 1 in the country. Georgetown finished in the top ten of each race. Each division sailed well especially in the two double-handed divisions where sophomore Charlie Buckingham (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) and junior Alexandra Taylor (Hobe Sound, Fla./The Benjamin School) won the A division by 12 points and sophomore Evan Aras (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) and junior Caila Johnson (Newport, R.I./St. Paul's School) placed fifth in the B division, bouncing back from being over three races in a row early on. This win qualifies the Hoyas to compete in all three nationals at the Fleet Racing National Championship June 1-3 in San Francisco, Calif.
