WASHINGTON - Hello fans, players, coaches, parents, and Hoyas! My name is Emmie Derback and I am a freshman middle blocker/right side hitter hailing from both Southwest Florida and Scandinavia. We just had two away games, playing West Virginia and Pittsburgh, which resulted in another 1-1 BIG EAST weekend with a 3-2 win over West Virginia and a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh. Over the next weeks we hope to come away with winning weekends to position ourselves well within the conference. October presents several opportunities to each player both on the court and in the classroom (midterms, projects, major papers), so we aim to work hard, perform well, and come away from this month with well-rounded excellence!
