WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's golf team concluded their fall season in mid-October at the Tribe Invitational hosted by William & Mary University. The Tribe Invitational was one of five fall tournaments that the Hoya's participated in this fall.
The season-opener at Princeton was the best finish for the Hoyas, as they carded a three-round score of 44-over par 908, finishing 12 shots behind tournament champion Yale.
Junior Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) led a Hoya lineup that had three players finish among the top-20 overall, which was the best overall team performance of the fall season. Jo tied for sixth place overall, carding an 8-over par 224. In her first collegiate event, freshman Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Holy Cross) tied for 12th place, shooting a 10-over par 226.
The second tournament the Hoyas took part in was the Badger Invitational, where they took seventh place. Junior Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) tied for 15th place overall, posting scores of five-over par 77, one-over par 73, and a three-over par 75 to finish at 9-over par 225 and was one of three players tied for 15th place overall.
At the Xavier Invitational, Dulieu and classmate Jo tied for 15th place at the Xavier Invitational with final scores of 231 (+15) respectively.
Dulieu and Jo were both very effective leaders for this young women's golf team throughout the whole fall season. Dulieu had the lowest scoring average on the team during the fall at 76.29, and Jo was second best on the team with a 77.14 average. Likewise, both junior leaders had 13 of their 14 (92.9%) total rounds counted this fall for the Hoyas, which led the team.
Choi was a great addition to the squad, as she was made an immediate impact in her first season for the Hoyas. Her most notable performance was in her first-ever collegiate competition where she placed 12th overall. Her final statistics from the fall season highlight how important of a role Choi played for the Hoyas, as she had the third lowest scoring average, just slightly behind Jo at 77.71. Even more impressive, Choi tied captains Dulieu and Jo for the best percentage of rounds counted this fall with 92.9% (13 out of 14).
The Georgetown University women's golf team capped off their fall season with a sixth place finish at the Tribe Invitational. The co-captains led the way for Hoyas in their final outing of the fall as Jo finished seventh overall and Dulieu finished 13th overall.
The Hoyas resume play in early March when they kick off their spring season.
