Foster Hired as New Women's Tennis Assistant Coach

Nov. 4, 2010

WASHINGTON - Starr Foster was named the new assistant women's tennis coach at Georgetown University, the program announced Thursday. Foster played tennis at Lehigh University before working with the United State Tennis Association's Quickstart League. She will assist Head Coach Gordie Ernst with coaching and program operations.

Foster was a three-year letterwinner at Lehigh after transferring from Rutgers University. She played No. 1 doubles for the Mountain Hawks as well as a number of positions throughout the singles lineup. She had a winning record in both singles and doubles over her three-year career and won the team's Coaches' Award.

The Greenwich, Conn., native graduated from Lehigh in 2006 with a degree in political science.

Following graduation, Foster worked with the USTA's Quickstart League. The grassroots organization traveled to areas to introduce tennis throughout the nation. She continued to compete at a regional level.

Foster is in the paralegal studies program in the School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown.
