Hoyas Fall to JMU, 6-0 on Saturday

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Georgetown University women's tennis team fell to James Madison, 6-0 on Saturday afternoon, as the Bulldogs swept the six singles matches from the Hoyas. The teams did not play for a doubles point.

Victoria Sekely earned a first set victory over Kinsey Pate at the No. 2 singles spot, but Pate won a tight second set, 7-5 before cruising 6-0 in the third set.

Jacquie Harrison, after dropping her first set at No. 3, 6-0, came back to take the second set 6-2, but fell 6-3 in the third and deciding set. Ally Landers also jumped out to a quick lead, taking a 6¬-3 first set in sixth spot, before dropping the next two sets 6-4.

JMU swept through the first, fourth and fifth singles spots in straight sets. The Hoyas return to action on Friday, March 26 when they travel to Farmville, Va. to take on Longwood at 3 p.m.
