WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's tennis team aims to build on its strong start to the season at the Delaware/Villanova Invite this weekend. The Hoyas will travel north to Villanova, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 3, to compete against Army at Villanova University. Georgetown will then head to Newark, Delaware on Saturday and Sunday to face Drexel University and the University of Delaware.

About the Hoyas

• The Hoyas built strong momentum early, going 11-4 in singles and 5-1 in doubles at the Towson Hidden Dual.
• Freshmen Julia Chu and Ruhika Bhat earned their first career singles and doubles wins in the season opener.
• Chu, Paige Gilbert, Molly Evans and Katie Garofolo-Ro were undefeated at the Towson Hidden Dual, notching wins in singles and doubles.
• The team returns two-time All-BIG EAST selection Emily Novikov, who posted a 16-8 singles record last year.
