Men's Soccer Announces Changes to Spring Schedule

March 24, 2010

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's soccer team has announced changes to its spring schedule. The Hoyas will play six games after training throughout the spring. The Blue & Gray will be without its three seniors from last season, but return a solid group for the spring games.

Georgetown will open the spring with a contest against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County to be held at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md. on March 27 at 3:15 p.m. The four-game event will be hosted by Real Maryland FC. The Retrievers finished with a mark of 14-6-0 last season and advanced to the America East championship game. UMBC currently has two of the top scorers in Division I returning in junior Levi Houapeu and sophomore Andrew Bulls.

On March 30, GU will host Real Maryland FC at Multi-Sport Field at 7 p.m. The Monarchs are a member of the United Soccer League's Second Division and finished last season fifth in the professional league.

Following a break for the Easter holiday, Georgetown will be back in action hosting George Mason on April 9 under the lights on campus. The Patriots were 10-7-1 last season and finished with a record of 5-5-1 in the CAA. The game will include a raffle for an ipad and various other prizes. The team will be wearing red shoelaces with a portion of each pair of laces purchased going to fight AIDS in Africa.
